Attaching file to hyperlink Results

I have a file with about 50 to 60 hyperlinks to word documents. The path to
these points to my hard drive. I would like a way that I can send the file
to someone else, but obviously the links will not work. Is there a clever
way to "package" these files together?

I'm having a problem with hyperlinks in Excel linked to a Word doc. The
archives show some answers for a specific part of a Word doc and I just want
the file to open up at the beginning. Do I still need a bookmark?

The problem I am having is that I attach a hyperlink to a .doc file and it
works fine the first time. If I save the file and try the link again, I get
an error message that something to the effect of this file doesn't exist.
(but it does). I thought possible there was a setup problem in Options but I
don't see anything that relates to hyperlinks. Any ideas?

I am using an excel schedule to track the date/time that emails are sent to
parties participating in a project and to track their required responses for
this project. Is there a way to hyperlink or afix in some way each email
into my Excel file so that if you click on the cell text the specific email
that I am referring to will open (similar to the way a hyperlinked Excel file
will open) ??

In my accounting software package, MAS200, I can attach files in a .pdf
format. I use this in the accounts payable cycle to attach shopping
documents, packing slips, invoices, etc.

We can export the path of these files into Sequel as a database field.

We are trying to run a report that exports from Sequel to Excel, and I'd
like to include the file path as a hyperlink to the file.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Actually, you don't need to open a file to check if it exists... Run the
macro below whenever your hyperlinks or their targets change:

Just copy the code and paste it in the Thisworkbook module on the VBA
editor, then run the macro ChkHypLnks from the sheet where the hyperlinks
are. It will generate a list of bad targets in a new sheet. You will find out
that it is blazing fast.

I am currently trying to send an attachment to a particular person after clicking on a hyperlink.....prob is do not know which code to use for this.....below is the code I am working on at the mo......
What happens is that it selects the last cell that has text in, converts it to hyperlink and shows the name in blue and underlined........once clicked on I would like the file that this name is on to be attached to the email and then sent......HELP

The following is the scope:

1. Password protect "database, convodatabase, and contact profile tabs
2. Add "Blank" selection to all listboxes

Contact profile form:
1. Make drop down selection based on current known contacts for company from company input form
2. Make default birthdate = nothing. If birthday is entered, automatically populate age field. Otherwise blank or entered by user manually.
3. Add macro for "Print to TearSheet" (I already added the contact profile tear sheet)
3.a. Sheet will delete when database is closed

ConvoLog Userform:
1. Contact date default to nothing unless entered
2. Add macro for "Print to TearSheet" (I already created the convolog tear sheet)

Filter Form:
1. Add hyperlink that will take user to website listed in database for selected company (see attached pdf)
2. Add hyperlink that will take user to folder for any stored documents for company (see attached pdf)
3. Changed filtered list to only show the following items in this order: Link to URL, Link to File Storage Folder, Link to Conversation Log, Company Name, Strategic Fit, Sales, EBITDA, Gross Margin, Raw Material Purchase Value, # of Employees. (see attached pdf file for what I was thinking)

Company Input Form:
1. Change red "x" delete button for listboxes to yes or cancel option, and write code to delete any checked items in the userbox if "x" is clicked.
2. Add file storage capabilities...after a user clicks on "Upload Document" within Company Input form, a dialog box will open allowing user to select a file(could be pdf, doc, picture...doesnt matter), and whichever file they select from an explorer window is uploaded to the following directory "usamt79iszepshpprojectgrowShared DocumentsCompanies(macro to create new folder for specific company)"file is stored here"
3."Today's Date" is not working correctly (doesn't refresh to current date)

Main Menu:
1. After clicking on "View Personality Profile" and entering password, allow a user to either a)select a company from the drop down box, and then select a contact from the filtered & alphabetized list below, or b) select a contact from the unfiltered list before choosing a company.
2. After clicking "View conversation log" and entering password, a user can select a company from the drop down and view the conversation log for the associated company.

Hi

I have a Excel database and a userform to look-up reocrds. I want to be able to connect a Data Sheet which is a PDF file to every product in the daatbase.

I have created an additional column and created hypelinks in front of each product. these hyperlinks are connected to the datasheet of that product which is saved on the drive.

I have created a field on the userform to display the respective hyperlink when a record is searched by user.

My problem is that the user form displays the hyperlink name, but its dead.
I want users to be able to click on the hyperlink to view the attached Datasheet. I have tried using Textbox and labels to display this hyperlink, but no luck.

anyone knows what I should be using to display this active hyperlink on my userform?? and keep it alive??

I have a program that allows users to artificially "attach" a file to an
MS-Excel sheet, but all the program really does is create a hyperlink to the
file and places the "=Hyperlink" formula in the cell for them.

This program works fine in all cases except for one user, who is trying to
attach a PDF file. This is the only instance in which a PDF file is being
used. The program runs fine as far as placing a "hyperlink" formula into the
cell and the path to the file is OK and the friendly name is OK. But, when
this user clicks the hyperlink, Acrobat opens for just a second, which
amounts to a flash, then closes again.

However, if I open this file on my computer, the hyperlink opens Acrobat and
everything functions as normal. We both have similarly configured machines
with Office 2003 and Windows XP. Obviously we both have the appropriate
permissions to the folder in which the PDF file resides. We both have Acrobat
7.

Does anyone have a clue why this behavior would occur and how I can correct
it?

Perhaps you can help me. I have created a pricelist for a company that sells camping supplies. What I need to do with the pricelist programatically, however, are.
1)Insert a drop down box that will hyperlink to each category
2)Create a button to insert whatever selected codes there are into a "Quote" worksheet.
3)Email the "Quote worksheet.
4)Update the pricelist automatically from a CSV file.

1) I have achieved this using by inserting a control and linking to a list on a hidden sheet, which then checks to find the headers. Problem is I can't force the "Header" to display at the top of the page. Is this possible.

2) I have created a button and it works BUT it simply pastes the data into my quote sheet. The problem here is that if the user "pastes" more than amount of rows I have allowed in my sheet, the information gets pasted over areas outside of the quote and as such are not added to the quote, it ends up being quite messy. I need to rather insert the information, but this will then not take into account the vlookup and sum formulas that I have in the cells adjacent to the "Stock Code" cells. From the confused explanation I can only guess that everyone will be almost as confused as I am!

3) I have achieved this by copying the "Quote" into Book1 and attaching this to an email, but it only works sometimes and then someimes does not...go figure.

4) This one I don't even know where to start!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it is an offer for a job at a McDonalds where I never have to see another excel spreadsheet!

My question/s are about hyperlinks, what I would like to have is a hyperlink that changes address depending on certain values contained within my sheet.

For example… if you open the attached files you might have a better idea of what I mean.

I would like this hyperlink to become active or visible on the sheet only when there is a value greater than 0.

ROOM RENT paid of women, that pay me board, a spreadsheet I put together hastily.

BRIEF INTRO:
~ There is a SUMMARY TAB 'TOTAL's FOR JAN-DEC', that reiterates the comments made, explaining why a payment was NOT made.
~ Simply there are SEPERATE SPREADSHEETS per MONTH that keep track of RENT PAYMENT AMOUNT.
~ Then PAID status is noted with either a 'Y' or 'N' in column D.
~ Then PAID (Cell C34) and NOT PAID (Cell C35), is totalled at the bottom of each MONTH
~ The H column refers to the 2 criteria's set by Y or N, in the summary tab, 'TOTAL's FOR JAN-DEC', Criteria1=B16, Criteria1=B17.

VARIATION ON SAME THEME:
I want the SUMMARY tab 'TOTAL's FOR JAN-DEC', which includes INDEX MATCH formula queries, to include BLANK ENTRIES from source tabs, hence then I can tell at a glance which WEEK NUMBER it is by glancing at the SUMMARY tab TITLE for the WEEK ROW, currently I have titled these REASON1, etc.
Currently COLUMN D to I simply, note the NEXT available comment , however I want the summary tab to display the blank entries, hence these blanks are between the entries with comments! Obviously!

EXAMPLE:
'JAN' tab
Comments for RENT UNPAID are made in CELLS: E3 and E17

'TOTAL's FOR JAN-DEC' summary tab
The 2 comments mentioned above, are listed one directly AFTER another:
REASON1 then REASON2
However the order they appeared in was WEEK2 (REASON2) and WEEK4 (REASON4).

Unsure how to include blank entries in this fashion in the summary tab ('TOTAL's FOR JAN-DEC').

Currently the formula looks like this for the summary tab for:
JAN REASON1: =IF(ROWS($A$1:$A1)>$B$18,"",INDEX(JAN!E:E,MATCH(ROWS($A$1:$A1),JAN!$H:$H,0)))

JAN REASON2: =IF(ROWS($A$1:$A2)>$B$18,"",INDEX(JAN!E:E,MATCH(ROWS($A$1:$A2),JAN!$H:$H,0)))

As you can see my formula simple checks ROW by ROW for next written comment, which misses blanks entries.

I need your kind advise on the following :

Attached is my excel database file, which is all about details of employees, to be used for printing Photo ID badges through a software that pick up relevant data field from the database, including Photograph.

My problem :

How should I hyperlink the last datafield that of Photo ?

1. Should I simply hyperlink the image by way of giving path OR

2. Should I actually paste the image directly into that Cell

3. When I attach the image from my USB drive (only) which I can use for printing through desktop or laptop at a remote location, the error message pops up "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this Computer. Please contact your system administrator." There is no problem when you hyperlink image on the desktop ( in which case both database file and images are stored in the same folder on the desktop itself)

Please guide me on the best way to hyperlink images in excel files

Hi, so I don't consider myself a total idiot with computers but I have worked in an office and know there are tons of people that know even less than me, but I apologize if my language isn't computer savy enough, lol

anyways, so i work for a small business now, I am using excel to hyperlink pdfs of invoices etc. the problem I am having is that it seems over some time I excel will not open then, (side note a notice pops up "cannot open" then has "was this information helpful" hahah I think it's hilarious)

I have noticed that in the "file path" the ones that cannot open have "roaming" in them, this is very annoying as I cannot open any of the files, is this an error on excels part, or is it mine, b/c I may or may not have moved some of the folders around at a later date, not sure if that should have an issue on the hyperlink, it just seems that over time they stop working.

Finaly last issue is that I simply cannot open an excel file without excel being open previously, so I have to open a blank sheet and from there click the open folder to open and files I want, you can image how annoying this is when I have excel attachments to open,

any help would be appreciated, if this have been mentioned in a previous thread im sorry and could you please direct me to that thread

I want to hyperlink pdf files to my excel file, however, I would like to
embed the pdf files within Excel so when I send my excel file to another user
with no access to my pdf files, I wouldn't need to attach all the associated
pdf files.

I have an excel work book and am trying to create a hyperlink to an embedded word document in the same workbook. If you look on the sheet that says TY08 there is a column that has LOI Wild West Days in a cell. I want to link that cell with the embedded document I have on the sheet named Documents. Can anyone tell me how to do this. I have tried without any luck numerouse times. I just want a person to be able to click on the link and it automatically open the word doc. I have a macro that generates an investigation form, saves it to the network. I would like to place a button on the worksheet to send the worksheet as a hyperlink. This way when the people who receive it can fill it out and just save it when they are complete.
I have read through several (seems like 100's ) posts and help files but can't seem to find the right code to make an e-mail with a hyperlink. Being new to writing macros I'm pretty much confused at this point. (too much research...LOL)

Everything I have tried makes the workbook an attachement not a hyperlink.

I have currently been in the process of automating a Wiki-coding spreadsheet for a friend, enabling him to fill his details into the spreadsheet, and then click a button to fully code it in Wiki format, export it to a text file, open the text file and enable him to just paste the text file directly onto the Wiki entry page.
What I have been struggling with, is not an important step, but one I would like to provide for him, is to auto-upload the .jpg images whose details are also stored within excel.
I can get excel to open the appropriate page through coding, but was wondering if there was a way to simply auto-complete the text box that appears on the web-page upon opening, with the filename of the aforementioned .jpg.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys.
