Unhiding Greyed out area

Hi All.... Can anybody help me. I have a sheet that stops after column AF but i know there is information passed that but it has been greyed out. Can somebody tell me how to remove the greyed out area ?
Thank You

I want to access the data that's in the greyed out area of this spreadsheet. How would I do that?

Hello friends,

I have been having this issue for a while now. I cannot right click on a sheet and delete or unhide it. I read through the forum and checked that the worksheet is not protected and sharing is turned off.
I would also like to add that this issue happens when I open a new excel file as well.
I tried to run excel in safe mode and it gave me the option to delete but unhide was still greyed out.
If I get the option of delete in safe mode, is it some macro running in the background?
I have attached some screenshots for your review .excel help.docx

I need to use these options regularly.

Please help

Thank you

Hi There

I know that page setup works well for greying out unused areas of the sheet but is there another way?

I want to delete unusued columns on the right of my data. I remember using
short cut keys to select unused columns and delete, which greys out the area
on the right. do you have any idea what I am talking about? Thanks

rows 1 to 17 are visible the next row is 16345
the thick grey line shows between rows 17 and 16345
however unhide is greyed out and does not allow me to unhide
thousands of rows

Hi,

I seem to be having this problem, where for some reason my chart is showing as a greyed out box until I click on the area and them it is normal again.

I really can't seem to figure out why this is happening as I would like the chart to be visible at all times, so any help would be much appreciated.

I've attached an image so you can see what I'm on about.

I'm developing a technical inquiry template for work. One of the areas deals with where the enquiry has come from (ie Internal, external-private, external-govt, general public). These options are proposed to be selected by Option Buttons. The first three (internal, private, govt) will each have a combo (drop down) box associated with them. What I am trying to do is make each combo box greyed out unless the applicable Option Button has been selected. Note that both Option Buttons and COmbo Boxes were created with the Control Toolbox.

Thanks in advance
Mike

HOw do you grey out the area that you are not using??

I have a user form with various text boxes, option buttons, tick boxes and combo boxes.

The form is to be used to raise and update various jobs/faults.

I wish to have one of the tick boxes as an option to close the job down. Can anyone help me with the code that will lock out the form for editing when it is clicked.

Also I dont know where to start with code that will grey out certain areas of the form once a certain value is selected from a combo box.

Cheers

Hello,

I am making a userform, and I need to make a check box have the capability of greying out a text box if it is checked. More specifically, there is a text box for account number, but I want to have the option of checking a box that says open inquiry in which case there would be no need for an account number. The account number text box needs to be filled in if it is not an open inquiry, otherwise the text box is not a requirement.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a fairly large spreadsheet which has over 30 tabs. The first tab is a summary sheet which uses hyperlinks to open relevanmt tabs.

I have 36 hyperlinks and want to add more. However the hyperlink feature in the right clicked menu has been greyed out.

Any ideas?

Hi forum

I've just finished writing some vb code that i need to assign to a button.
Trouble is I select the control toolbox and put it design mode and all of the icons with the tool box are greyed out.

Any ideas. pic attached below

Doh Doh and double doh!

Problem solved: I inadvertently had selected more than one worksheet tab and this was stopping me from placing a button on the worksheet.

I am using Excel 2000 on Windows 2000. There are no macros on spreadsheet and no protections at all yet I acnnot use trace precedents/dependents as the items are greyed out. Can anyone suggest what may have happened?

Hello,

I started trying to answer a thread (Printing specific pages in a report) but it has changed into trying to get a menu item to appear.

The problem is Originally Posted by Simpsonc2 I have opened the form in design view. There is no toolbar or toolbox icon, I select View: and the toolbox option is greyed out and I cannot select it. It's a mystery? In the thread I establish that he has not disabled design rights.

Thanks,

hi all

I have an xls which runs macro's - on the last step they need to do a save as - but what is happening is people are doing a save and it keeps overwritting the main xls. I can't make read only as one of the macro's imports data into it.

How do I make the save greyed out so they can't do it??

Is that the option I should be looking at?

thanks

I've tried other forums to no avail, and hope that someone could please advise; I have lost the paste & paste special functions on Excel - I have tried applying the menu reset :

Open excel
hit alt-f11 (to get to the VBE)
hit ctrl-g (to see the immediate window)

type this and hit enter:
application.commandbars("cell").reset

This seemed to work, but after one application of copy / paste the buttons resumed their greyed out appearance.

This is now really bugging me, and I would welcome some advice please. I'm using Office 2007 and Win7.

Hi

I have 4 check boxes on a Access Form.

If someone checks the 4th box, I would like a text box to become available for user input, else the text box 'greyed out'

Please can someone point me the right direction....

Macro works successfully, but can only be run when accessed via Visual Basic Editor. I'd like to be able to run directly from Excel.

Can’t run the macro from the Excel Toolbar (Tools>Macro>Macros) or Alt+F8. I can see the subroutine, but the RUN button is greyed out. I have to go into the Visual Basic Editor to run it.

The Autosum in all my Excel files is greyed out. I am able to use the icon button to perform autosums but am unable to turn off "autosum" from the tool bar. I have turned the EnableAutosum to "true" in the Editor with no luck. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice

I want to turn on Tracking Changes for a worksheet I've been developing for my group. It's a complex worksheet and I'd like to know what other people change on the sheet in case something breaks. So I went to Tools -> Tracking Changes -> Highlight Changes.... but Highlight Changes is greyed out. Any idea why Highlight Changes would be greyed out and how I can get it turned on?

Hi All,

I am using excel 2007 and am trying to apply some filters to some pivot tables that were created in 2003.

However when I try to filter the fields, the options are greyed out (see image), I can still use a top 10 filter, or manually go through and untick the options that I don't want to see but obviously this isn't ideal. My colleague using 2003 who made these pivot tables can use these filters just fine.

If I convert the file to the new format these options do become available, but then the pivot isn't compatible with 2003. Is there anyway to get these filters working?

Hi All

I have work book that has 4 combo boxes that require user input inorder to complete a series of calculations. What i would like to do is if the user selects option1 in the first combo box then it causes combobox2 to be greyed out thus preventing the user from selecting anything from combobox2. The comboboxes are on a sheet called Sheet1 and are not on form.

I have tried using the following

Sub DropDown1_Change()
If Range("A1") = 1 Then
Sheet1.DropDowns.Visible = False

End If

End Sub

the problem with this is that this hides all of the comboboxes not really the effect that I was looking for.

TIA

Graeme

Hi

As the title suggests I've managed to grey out the Save and Save As buttons in the File menu.

I've pretty certain that I have managed to do it with some code in here but don't know what

Any help VERY much appreciated.

Oh the reason i've managed to do this is because I want to disable save whilst my user has this wookbook open (opening saving when I want them to) but I want them to be able to save as normal in any other workbook.

Thank you in advance
