12 and the second number is 16, this is a 33% increase over the original

number (12). Is there a formula that incorporates this calculation?

problem is that some of my numbers are negitive eg. -147.80 has decreased to

-785.00 I am looking for the % to be a negitive only in this case

I have the following columns, and want to work out by what percentage the revenue has increased or decreased by customer. I will then compare it to budget. I have tried a few formulas but becuase I am not very good with them I keep getting different answers most of it being ERROR (what a surprise), can someone help me with a forumla to work this out please?

I need to identify trends or progressive increase or decrease in the variables highlighted in the attached workbook.

I need to compare January, February, March and April of 2009 to January, February, March and April of 2010.

Eg, Comparing january 2010 to January 2009 were there any increase, decrease or did they remain constant

I there a way of increasing and decreasing my price lists by a percentage.

I have approx 10 columns running across the top of my spread sheet down to row 500 with all my prices.

Can I put a cell at the base of each column that I can just type in a % increase or decrease to update each column. I am thinking the cell would have the number 1 in it. If I wanted my prices up by say 10% I would just type 1.1 and so on. If I want to decrease by 10% I type .9

Can somebody steer me the right way on how to do the formula.

Can someone please tell me the best way to calculate the percentage of increase/decrease for time increments. i.e. What is the % of increase from 04:40 to 04:50

I am thinking that I might have to break it into seconds first? Really not sure but the answers I am getting from the usual (b-a)/a is showing strange numbers that I dont feel are correct (with formatting the cells for time and also tried general)

I want to calculate the percentage of increase or decrease per month for

each officer. When I use B2: =C2/A2 - 1 its only calculating one

way, giving false percentage. I tried the =If(or, but am getting false

percentages with that formula as well. HELP!!!

I have a column chart with a trend line that depicts the amount of incidents

that occur month to month for example Nov 470 Dec 420 ...What I would like

to do is on the same chart, show the percent of increase or decrease between

the months to give more substance to the chart...has anyone done this before?

I have the following formula but it gives me wrong results... when the result is negative..

=SUM(I65-J65)/J65

eg: 10-100/10=90% but 100-10/100=900%

But anyway here it goes. Please look at attached file so i can describe my problem much easier. I am using excel 07 on vista. fyi.

Ok when you open up the file please ignore everything above the blue bar. That was the old data which was arranged wrong. I have actually figured a lot of this out but i am stuck. The graph is set up so when you click on the drop down menu (F26) it changes the graph to the relevant data. Now the bottom graph is currently graphing the Months Expense1 as a total of all Expense1. So January Expense1 was $100 so its 26% of all Expense1. and when you click on the drop down button you can changed the data to Expense2 and the graph changes. YAY ok thats cool. However, thats not what i want. I want the pie chart to be graphing the expenses as a percentage of total Expenses. So the drop down menu would be of the months instead of the expenses.

I have changed that with relative ease, but I cant get the data to graph how i want it to.

I have been using OFFSET() formula and the define name manager to set up the previous graph. You can easily look at the formulas i have used instead of me trying to explain everything. Please help. This is the test bed for a budgeting spread sheet I am working on.

if you can help me out that would be great.. Please try not to use Macros because i dont understand them all that well and I need to take what is done in this spreadsheet and learn from it and change it so it works when are thre 10 expenses.

Other relevant data.

Expense drop down button is named New using the Name manager.. and the formula used is shown directly above it. I assume that this formula is what needs changing.

use two reasons I use such plots are:

Studying individual time series trends; and

Overall impression of all results.

But when studying multiple time series data a chart can become cluttered.

It would be useful if individual series could be seleceted as visible or

invisible so that they could be evaluated without losing the total plot.

At the moment the only way to "unclutter" the plot is to remove the

temporaily-unwanted series but it can be time consuming to reconstruct the

plot.

I have three sheets in a work book. I am attempting to track not only the difeferences but the percentage of change between data on sheets 2 & 3.

Here are the cells on sheet one:

A1: Name1 B1: Place1 C1: Difference1 D1: Percentage of Change1

A2: Name2 B2: Place2 C2: Difference2 D2: Percentage of Change2

This goes goen the page thru A42.

Sheet 2:

A1: Name1 B1: Place1 C1: Number1

A2: Name2 B2: Place2 C2: Number2

Here is what I am wanting to do"

Sheet 2 I am posting text into this sheet.

Sheet 3 I am posting updated data into this sheet.

Sheet one is the calculation page using the data from Sheets 2 & 3 as follows:

1. I need to check that the name appears in both lists and then update sheet 1 column A. There will be about 40 names on each list and they may change so I need to make sure the list of names, as well as the corresponding Place to that name, on Sheet 3 appear on Sheet 1. If a new name appears on sheet three it needs to be seen on sheet 1 however, if it shows on sheet 2 and not on sheet 3, then it does not appear on sheet 1.

2. Once the names have been resolved, I want to subtract the number for each name on sheet 3 from the number of the corresponding name on sheet 2.

3. Once the difference has been found, I want to post the percentage of change on Sheet 1 column D.

I know this is alot and I have tried different things but none have worked. Mostly because I am rather new to complex formulas in excel. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I'm generating Excel-Charts via VSTO in VB .NET. For the Seriescollections I

want to set given RGB-Values like RGB(223, 0, 48) for red. But the colors are

different from the colors, when I generate Chart objects in Excel-VBA.

It seems that the RGB-Colors in VSTO / VB .NET not scalable like it shoud

be. It seems furhter more that there are only a few colors avialable, wenn I

increase or decrease the RGB-Colors they only get brighter or darker in

intervalls.

e.g.

mySeries.Interior.Color = RGB(223, 0, 48) shows the same color as

mySeries.Interior.Color = RGB(204, 0, 35)

My Screen-Setting are settet to 32-bit true color. Do you have any ideas how

to solve this phenomenon?

been made onto our server. Each row will have info regarding the entry

and the last cell will be say yes or no (yes for right, no for wrong).

I was wondering if there was an equation i could enter at the bottom of

the column that would give me a percentage of the yes's or the no's.

I have one doubt in bar chart. I have created one bar chart. That contains 4 serious collection. All 4 bar shows well. But if i delete the one or two serious collection, Bar size is increased. Bar shows bigger size. I need the same size even if i delete the serious collection. Is it possible in excel chart?

I use maximum of 4 bars only. I want the same size, even i increase or decrease the serious collection.

Pls help me.
