Mac Excel 2011 Add Ins?

Hello,

I'm looking for any recommendations on add ins for Mac Excel 2011 in the vein of PUP or ASAP Utilities.

I used to have a couple for Mac Excel 2004, but can't track them down in all my Google searches.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi, I have an array formula to calc interest (another for principal). It works perfectly in Excel for PC 2010, 2007 and for Mac Excel 2011. HOWEVER, it doesn't seem to work in Mac Excel 2008. The formula doesn't have the array {} brackets around it when the file is opened and you can not activate it by pressing "Command + Return".

This is the formula
=-1*SUM(IFERROR(IF($F241:G241<>0, PPMT($F244:G244, G234-$F234:G234,$F242:G242,$F241:G241)),0))

Any and all help appreciated. We use PC and client uses MAC 2008 and this affects the entire worksheet.

Thanks very much....

I have a macro in which I'm creating a new workbook and copying selected sheets from an existing workbook into the new one. I only ant values, not formulas.

The following code works fine in Mac Excel 2011 but fails with a 1004 Method failure in Windows Excel 2003. What am I doing wrong?

	VB:

 ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
    ws.Cells.Copy
    ws.Cells.Clear
    Range("A1").Select
    ActiveSheet.PasteSpecial xlPasteValues
    ws.Cells.Hyperlinks.Delete
    Application.CutCopyMode = False
    Cells(1, 1).Select
    ws.Activate
Next ws

I realise I selected A1 twice, but I wondered if it was needed after the ws.Cells.Clear line. It didn't help. It is the PasteSpecial line that fails in Windows but works in Mac.

Any ideas will be most welcome

Excel 2002 Add-in: Open Database Connectivity

The Excel Add-in: Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) contains the SQL.REQUEST worksheet function, which can connect to an external database and return a query to the worksheet.

Excel 2002 Add-in: OLAP CubeCellValue

The CubeCellValue add-in for Microsoft Excel contains the CubeCellValue function which allows you to retrieve a single value from an Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) data provider and enter it into a single cell on your spreadsheet.

At present we're using a software package called Quality Analyst to produce histograms, x-Bar charts etc for analysis of our finished products. Unfortunately, the software is really clunky and it's a total pain to actually get data into it- we have over 35 products all with differing analyses and specifications and have to create a 'header' file for each one. Quality Analyst has a very rudimentary coding system, but doesn't support loops etc so it's practically impossible to automate the process.

I've seen a few Excel SQC add-ins around and was wondering if anyone could recommend any of them?

I am trying to use a new Excel microsoft add-in using SQL server 2005. I installed the 180 day trial version of SQL Server 2005 and according to the instructions it was suppose to be very easy to connect the excel add in to SQL. I am receiving an error message which I cannot find a resolution to using the readme file and wonder if you can help. Here is the url to the readme file.

ERROR MESSAGE

Does anyone know if you can get the Excel Open Database Connectivity for
Excel 2003? We are trying to use the sql.request function in Excel 2003 and
it is not installed (returns #NAME?). In the Excel help it says "If this
function is not available, you must install the Microsoft Excel ODBC add-in
program (XLODBC.XLA). You can install the add-in from the Microsoft Office
Web site.". I went online and found it for Excel 2002, which I promptly
downloaded and tried to install and it installed on one computer (not a clean
machine - has Office 2000 and 2003 (but it does have Project 2002, but not
Office 2002), but it will not install on the other machines saying "Microsoft
Office XP or Excel 2002 not found." Am I missing it online?

Recently upgraded to Office 2007. After I activated a few Add-ins in Excel,
the add-in files (*.xla and *.xlam) appear in Start=>My Recent Documents,
which basically renders "My Recent Documents" useless since it happens every
time I start Excel. Any idea how to correct this issue? These add-in files
never appeared like this when using previous versions of Excel. Also, they
do not appear in "Recent Documents" within Excel.

Thanks.

Hi,

I wrote an Excel 2003 Add-in using VBA and distributed it to someone
using Excel XP (Excel 2003).

Whenever my client uses the app I am getting the following error when
the Mid function is encountered --

"Compile Error: Can't find project or library".

After I prepend the mid function with vba (so every instance of mid is
now vba.mid), the error goes away, but I'm wondering if all the
standard VBA functions will be affected in this manner and if there's
an easier resolution? Also I was under the impression that the VBA
library distributed with Office 2003 was the same as that with Office
XP -- am I mistaken?

Thanks,

Excel 97 - Add-IN - On windows terminal server - Second user is locked

This happens only on Windows terminal server

We have a small add-in that we use in all of our spreadsheets
the first user/session to call it is fine, but all the other users/sessions
that call any spreadsheets using the same add-in, the add-in is lock
from that first user. We solve our problem by generating multiple
copy of the same add-in, but Is there a better way to do this like
a Swith in Excel that will let the add-in to be share accross session?

Thank you for you time and effort...

I have been "upgraded" to Excel 2007 which I discovered does not save to DBF format

So I put together the attached Excel 2007 add-in to add this functionality back in. Once activated, it will add a "dBASE IV DBF" menu item in the Office menu Save As list. It works mostly like the Excel 2003 save as DBF.

To install, unzip the attachment to your "Documents and SettingsUserNameApplication DataMicrosoftAddIns" folder and activate it in Excel.

One issue is that the Jet driver ignores the data types and uses what it thinks is best instead. A work-around would be to reopen the table with the VFPOLEDB driver and alter table the columns to what you want.

Hopefully people will find this more useful than copying the data to Access and exporting from there.

How do I get the action related to the Remove Duplicates icon in Mac Excel 2011 replicated in a macro? The reason I am asking is because the Record Macro function does not record the actions linked to this icon.

I have a relatively large spreadsheet where I want duplicates removed that meet multiple criteria (eg only records where the date, name and address are unique must be kept but the amount can differ). This is what the Remove Duplicates icon allows you to do by selecting the fields used to filter and identify unique records.

I'm in the Navy, and have been given a spreadsheet to aid in Financial planning, however it doesn't work properly on my Mac, running Excel 2011. Currently use Office 2007 on a windows machine at work. Is it possible to get said worksheet to work at all on my Mac? For some reason I can't upload the file right now, but it would be a huge help if anybody could assist.

Hi,

I have a simple database file that contains an account master sheet, an account holdings master sheet, and an account view sheet for pulling in data from the other two and displaying it tidily. Macros are used to pull in holdings data when an account name is selected from the dropdown list on the account view sheet. In Excel 2010 running on Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1, these holdings populate the sheet correctly when an account is selected from the dropdown. In Excel 2011 running on Mac OS X 10.7.2, however, selecting names from the dropdown causes only the account notes (blue fields in the upper half of the sheet) to populate correctly. The holdings (yellow lines across lower portion of the sheet) do not populate correctly on a Mac.

Does anyone know why the Macros run and the account view sheet displays correctly on Windows, but not on a Mac? I am totally perplexed by this, as the code is the same. Are there any settings that need to be changed on the Mac? Is it some sort of display issue? I would love to have the file display correctly on a Mac with default Excel settings.

I've attached the file in the hope that someone with access to both operating systems can test it and provide some insight. Thanks so much in advance for any help or advice.

No luck finding an answer? You could always try Google.
