Macro Enabled Spreadsheet to Web Page

I have a spreadsheet that as a few macros enabled within it. The macros controls hyperlinked buttons that redirect users to specific PDF documents on a web page.

Is there anyway to save this Excel spreadsheet as a web page itself and use it as such?

TIA

I have a spreadsheet with several macros and would like to convert it to a
web page. Does anyone know a way to do this and still keep the functionality
of the macros?

Thanks in advance.

I have Excel 2003 SP2 and Internet Explorer 7 Update version 0 running on Windows XP version 5.1

My problem is that I created a spreadsheet with several hyperlinks to web pages. I am not very savvy with this stuff so I would simply put a name in a block (i.e. bank account) then right click and choose "hyperlink". I would open the web page i wanted to point to in IE and then return to the excel spreadsheet and click "OK". This created the link to the web page on my worksheet.
Recently I opened my spreadsheet and none of my links worked. I clicked on "edit hyperlink" with no reaction. i tried opening a new sheet and creating a hyperlink as stated before but the "OK" button on the "Insert Hyperlink" pop up will not activate. So, I cannot fix old hyperlinks or create new ones.

I have the feeling that this is somehow related to a security issue, but i have checked all my security settings and cannot see a problem. I run Norton by Symantec but had it when the links were working also.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have been to the help files and knowledge database but they do not seem to address this particular problem.

Thank you
Robert

Hi All
I need to publish an excel spreadsheet - created on server -
get users input, and save the results back to original excel file on server.

My initial thoughts were to load this sheet into a Office Web Component
spreadsheet and to export it back to server.

Am I in the right direction??

Are there other ways to expose excel spreadsheets in web pages and save
results to server?

Thanks for your attention
Rea

I'm having problems saving a macro enabled spreadsheet in excel 2003; we are receiving the "Document Not Saved" error. I have looked everywhere for a fix but haven't found any help yet.

It is a local copy, so it is not saved on any network drive. We currently use Windows XP SP3 with Office 2003. Excel 2003 macro security is set to medium.

The spreadsheet worked perfectly fine on multiple workstations until we updated to Outlook 2010. Now every time we try to save the excel spreadsheet, we receive the "Document Not Saved" error.

To try to fix the issue I've tried everything that I know how to do. I even went as far as creating another profile, in which case the spreadsheet DOES work. So I'm thinking that Installing Outlook 2010 changed something on the profile, but I have no idea what.

I can't use the creating a new profile as a fix, because that would require us creating new profiles for the 50 employees that use the spreadsheet.

Any ideas / help would be appreciated.

I am trying to write a macro that publishes the print area as a non-interactive web-page to a file that sits in the same location as the spreadsheet from which the macro is being run.

I am using the the following macro:

Sub SaveRangeWeb2()
'Creates a web page without interactivity from specified range
    ActiveWorkbook.PublishObjects.Add _
        SourceType:=xlSourcePrintArea, _
        Filename:=ActiveWorkbook.Path & "Sample1.htm", _
        Sheet:=ActiveSheet.Name, _
        HtmlType:=xlHtmlStatic

    ActiveWorkbook.PublishObjects(1).Publish (True)
End Sub

I am having some problems with this though.

First, it only publishes what ever is defined as the print range on the first sheet in my workbook, not the currently active sheet. I want it to publish the print area of the currently active sheet.

Second, once the macro runs one time, no matter what I name the output file name, it still uses sample1.htm. So when I run the macro the first time it creates the file called sample1.htm. However, if I change the name of the output filename in the macro to sample2.htm, it still names it sample1.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Folks,
I have a large spreadsheet, that among other things, publishes several charts from a worksheet to a network drive. Runs fine in Excel 2003 but fails in Excel 2007.

The error is:
Run-time error '1004'
Application-defined or object-defined error

The code where it fails is:
'
 ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 81").Activate
    ActiveChart.ChartArea.Select
    ActiveChart.ShowWindow = True
    ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 81").Activate
    ActiveWorkbook.PublishObjects.Add(xlSourceChart, _
        "P:ReportsOps ChartsFriday.htm", "ThisDay Chart", "Chart 81", xlHtmlStatic, _
        "Stats worksheet 2006_22191", "").Publish (True)
ChDir "P:ReportsOps Charts"
    ActiveWindow.Visible = False
Now, the original macro was created by recording a manual effort of publishing the chart and then this has been promulgated into the code with lots of options.
I tried to re-create the macro again in excel2007 but it will not go past the 'Publish As Web Page' dialog box because it does not recognise the chart as an object.
The error message for this is:

The chart Chart 81 no longer exists on sheet ThisDay Chart. This item will be deleted from the list of previously published items in this workbook

.
.
While troubleshoorting, I noticed that in xl2003, on the graph, I can right click and one of the options is 'Chart Window'. This is not present in xl2007.

Any suggestions would be welcomed....

Thanks,
Tim

Hi there.
I have a very simple excel spreadsheet. I save it as a web page. Viewing the page locally on my browser works fine. After uploading the page to the web the border lines are mangled and sometimes some rows are missing. If in explorer I click on Tools->Interner Options->Advanced and click on ANY box twice (just to activate the apply button) and then click apply, the html page is displayed neatly as expected. I've tried publishing the spreadsheet with and without borders and played with various other settings but I can't seem to figure out what the problem.

Any ideas

Cheers in advance

I have a web page that has a list of links to other pages. One of these
pages is an excel spreadsheet. I created the sheet in excel, and "saved as"
htm. When I click the link on the home page, it brings up the spreadsheet on
a new page, as I desire. Then I tried to make it interactive, so that others
could add or modify data. When I save it as HTM, I can modify the data on
the web page, but the changed data doesn't get saved.
I tried the "save as web page" option on the spreadsheet. This changes the
suffix to mht. I "published" the file to the web site, and changed the
suffix on the file link to the "mht". Now when I click on the link from the
home page I get an "MIME" error.
How can I publish the spreadsheet on the web so that others can make
changes, and the changes will be saved so that the next user will see the
changed web page.

a "static snapshot of my excel worksheet." Is there anyway to get the button

Is it possible to put a section of a spreadsheet on a web page so that it still does all the functions? Or can you just put a pic of a spreadsheet on it?

Is it possible to transfer an entire workbook with vba codes/macros onto a fully, functional web page?

If I needed it to be on a web page, would I have to just start from scratch? Does anyone know of any services to do this?

I created a list of products on an excel sheet. The customer picks the item and quantity and it gives them the cost. I want to put this sheet on our web page and allow the customer to choose the items and quantities, fill in their customer info, click a summit order button, and then it creates an orderon a new page. It would only show the items that they ordered, and their customer info. We would also receive this order. Is this possible or must I contact a programmer. Thanks for the help

How can I launch the user's browser to a given web page using a form button?

Thanks,
Andrew

Sorry for such a basic question, but . . . how do you format a field in access so that upon "click" it will take you to the web page you have entered in that field?

When saving all new spreadsheets the default file type has been set to Web Page (*.htm: *.html), how do I get the default set back to workbook (*.xls)

I imported a .csv file and now I would like to put it on my web site
and make it interactive
for someone to be able to click on the rows at the top and have the
cell sorted.

I've download spreadsheet type web pages before and when I did
there was a separate folder created for the saved web page with
styles.css & script.js in the folder, how do I create such a web page.

I tried to create one by saving the file as a web page but it didn't
put the java etc. in it.

I want to create a chart, put it up on a webpage and when I update the data I
want it to update the chart and update the chart on the webpage.

I've used the "Save as web page" feature but this only creates a static gif
and not a dynamic link. Anyone got any tips? Bueller? Bueller?

Hi folks,
I have an interactive, Excel 2003 embedded in an .html page. It works
fine as long as you have Excel 2003 on your PC, but it won't work if
you have Excel 2007!

If you have Excel 2007, the page says, "To use this Web page
interactively, you must have Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.01 Service
Pack 2 (SP2) or later and the Microsoft Office 2003 Web Components."

Does anyone know what's causing this and how I can fix it?

Thanks.

I have tried to publish a pivot chart to a web page in Excel 2003 and get the
following error shown in the pivot table area:
"The query could not be processed. Error opening data file......"

The chart format and title appears along with the pivot table format, but no
content.

Any ideas?

Take care,

This may not belong in this forum or section, but it does have to do with Excel.

I have finally got my data setup thanks to the kind folks here. Now I am trying to get it to display on my web site. I have saved the file using Excel 2007, as a Web Page, and it opens correctly in my browser when accessed locally.

My question is, what is the command or code to edit in my index.htm to tell it to open it.

To do images, I use the <img src="xxx.jpg" width="xxx" height="xxx">

but for documents and other files, I have no idea where to even begin.

Is this appropriate to ask here and if so please clue me in to what I need to do to accomplish this task?

Thanks
Mike

Two tasks I am attempting to achieve in a macros-enabled spreadsheet:

1. Enter a simple "X" in a yellow box via key stroke. (currently, must double-click to enter "x"; keyboard is disabled when the yellow box is highlighted in this spreadsheet)

2. Use keyboard shortcut to autofill date after I click on a cell in the spreadsheet, when a popup window prompt appears after I click on the cell, asking me to enter the date. (currently, after the cell is clicked and the popup window appears, user must type date in format "mm/dd/yy"; control semi-colon does not work)

Remedial question, however the obvious answers ("hit the x on the keyboard" and "control semi-colon" fail) do not work.

If there is more info required, please ask, and I'll elaborate.

Best,

Michael

I have a workbook with 2 interactive and 1 hidden sheet. What are processes
