My spreadsheet records time in whole number. Like 2.94 is actually 176.4 minutes. Is there a way to get it to convert a whole number into minutes?

have it take a given time and add to it to give me a completion time for a

specific task

For example, I had this formula:

(1784 seconds * 26 percent)/60= 7.73

I want to convert the 7.73 into minutes and seconds. So 7.73 would become 8.13 minutes.seconds

Please help!

Thanks so very much

I am really new to vba and i'm sure this is really easy but I need to convert a number into a date, please see example below.

I have a number such as 20110605 and i want to build a function in vba which allows me to return it in the format 05/06/2011. I have been using the formula =right(cell,2)&"/"&mid(cell,5,2)&"/"&left(cell,4) but i dont want to have to type this out each time.

Really appreciate your help!

Thanks in advance.

for example

I want to convert no. "1" into "one" "2" into "two" etc.

for example

I want to convert no. "1" into "one" "2" into "two" etc.

Hours and minutes.

As an example: 722 minutes = 12 hrs 2 mins

ie:

312 = 6.0

286 = 5.5

260 = 5.0

234 = 4.5

208 = 4.0

182 = 3.5

156 = 3.0

130 = 2.5

104 = 2.0

78 = 1.5

52 = 1.0

Could this also be done with the entire range of numbers from 312 to 52 and giving decimals of 6.0, 5.9, 5.8 etc.

Can someone help me do this?

Thank You

the total number of minutes taken - fine until the number of minutes is over

60. Is it possible to convert say 200 minutes to read 3hours and 19 minutes ?

eg 200 divided by 60 = 3.33 and then .33 x 60 to give the number of minutes ?

My thanks in anticipation.

i have a rather 'special' case (to me, at least) - how do i convert the time written in a cell into minutes, using macros, then putting those numbers in different cells? as in:

[01/01/08 09:55 AM] ---> [540] [55]

[01/01/08 07:05 PM] ---> [1140] [5]

where [xx] denotes one cell

thanks again for all your help!

I need some help on which formula to use to convert a whole number to hour.minute format

example - 587.6 minutes should be converte to hours and the outcome should be 10.06 hours.

Many thanks

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me please?

I am trying to write a function that will convert a number into days-hours-minutes. I have managed to get as far as hours-minutes using the following function.

=INT(A1/60)&"h "&ROUND(MOD(A1/60,1)*60,0)&"m"

e.g. If A1 = "7090" the result of this function will be "118h 10m".

I now need to express the result as xxxd xxxh xxxm and this is where I am stuck!

Thanks in anticipation.

Steve

I am trying to figure out how to convert any whole number to a letter string.

A=1 B=2 .... Z=26 etc AA=27.

I would like to extend the process to accept any whole number. e.g 1000, 50,000, 1,000000 etc....

Is there a standard algorithm for the conversion ? I can then try to write the code for this.

Thanks

I've been working on a project for work for the last couple weeks and this forum has proven to be invaluable when it comes to working through issues. I couldn't find this one through searching, so alas i will post.

One element of this project is converting a length from textbox "txtLength." I have this box setup so it can be only whole numbers, no fractions/decimals/letters/etc. However, i need to manipulate this number and change it's length so i can later print the length to a Bill of Materials. It's not practical to print this length as inches, because the length could be as high as 360 inches.

Here's where i'm at, i'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around the correct way to approach this.

VB:Any direction you could provide would be a big help!LengthConverter() Dim sLength As String 'This is the final format of "XXFT XXIN" Dim iLength As Integer 'This is the original format of "XXIN" iLength = txtLength.Value End SubIf you like these VB formatting tags please consider sponsoring the author in support of injured Royal Marines

Thanks,

Nate

Edit: Working through this a little more and it should be something like this, i just don't know the correct functions in excel:

VB:Am i getting closer?Public Sub LengthConverter() Dim iLengthFT As Integer Dim iLengthIN As Integer Dim sLength As String sLengthFT = (iLength/12) With a method To drop the remaining decimal To the Next calculation of: sLengthIN = (Remainder(iLength/12))*12 'Round this up to whole number Then would need a method To concatenate the "FT" And "IN" units To the End of the integers. End SubIf you like these VB formatting tags please consider sponsoring the author in support of injured Royal Marines

Thanking you

Ramesh V

ie: 312 = 6.0

286 = 5.5

260 = 5.0

234 = 4.5

208 = 4.0

182 = 3.5

156 = 3.0

130 = 2.5

104 = 2.0

78 = 1.5

52 = 1.0

Could this also be done with the entire range of numbers from 312 to 52 and giving decimals of 6.0, 5.9, 5.8 etc.

Can someone help me do this?

Thank You

I.e one cell has "10" in it, in the next cell I would like "ten" to be written

Days. eg

8548 converts into 23 Years, 4months and 24 days.

do I do that. (i'd rather it not be in military time).
