Command buttons in Excel 2000?

I wrote in a few days ago about using command buttons to create a "call ticker" for an employee timesheet. The help I received for the forum worked great, except I wrote the code in Excel 2010. My company only has Excel 2000, so when I brought in my file today, everything but the command button seems to be working.

The button appears, but whenever I hover over it, it doesn't allow me to click. I thought I might be in developer mode, but I don't think that's the case. Does Excel 2000 support ActiveX command buttons?

Also, I'm not quite sure how to check if I'm in developer mode in Excel 2000 (since there is no ribbon). If you could provide me information on that too, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I need to set up a command button
in excel(I am in 97)to automatically set a
password that will lock a specific worksheet.
I have tried the following code but I think
I am missing something maybe to do with enabling macros
because it is not working.
I am used to writing code in Visual Basic
but not excel.

Private Sub cmdLock_Click()
If Worksheets("Sheet1").ProtectContents = True Then

MsgBox "the worksheet is already protected", vbOK, "Lock Forecasting Worksheet"

Else
iaction = MsgBox("Are you sure you are ready to Lock the worksheet?", vbYesNo, "Lock forecast")
If iaction = "Yes" Then

'set the password
Worksheets("sheet1").Protect Password:="true", Scenarios:=True
cmdLocked.Enabled = False
End If
End If

End Sub

When I run this the message displays but there
is no locking going on!

Thanks

I would like to create a command button in excel on the worksheet to print a
portion of the worksheet and/or graphs at the bottom of the worksheet. Can
this be done in Excel and how much VBA programming is involved?

I have programmed VBA command buttons in an excel 2003 file, and want to know how to use them in excel 2007. I have saved the file as Macro-Enabled workbook, and enabled macro execution through Trust Center settings. I can see each of the Command Buttons code programming by right-clicking on any of them. But there is no way to click on the buttons and execute the code programmed for each of them. Any idea how to enable these commands buttons in excel 2007?

I would really like to know whether it is possible to have the "Change Case" command available in Excel 2000. I use this frequently in Word 2000 and the command button actually appears under the Format menu, ie: View-Toolbars-Customize-Format-Change Case. I have this permanently set on my toolbar at the top of the screen in Word and would like to have the same setting applied in Excel however I can't seem to find this option available. Any help would be much appreciated !

What button type[listbox or command?] and what script do I attach to a
button I've called 'Select a Workgroup' which, when clicked on, will provide
a drop down box with all workgroup names. I would like to be able to click
on a name and have the data within the report reflect that of the workgroup
selected. I'm trying to recreate a macro button in Excel as used in Lotus -
example below :

Sub Click(Source As Buttoncontrol)
[/w].MacroRun
End Sub

*where /w represents "workgroup"

Does Excel have the same premise as Lotus whereby a "workgrouplist" and
"workgrouppick" need to be named in a range as well as the following
formula{CHOOSE-ITEM workgrouplist;workgrouppick;"Select a
Workgroup";"Workgroup Selection"}{calc}. Is there a web site that I can
refer to for assistance?
Thank you!

I have a command button on the toolbar of my excel spreadsheet. However I
need to send this spreadsheet out to other people and once sent to them, the
command button doesn't appear on their toolbar. Is there a way of making it
happen, or even better is there a way of having the command button in the
spreadsheet (I mean in one cell)?
Any advise, help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

1. I have created a workbook in excel 2000.
2. In that, I have placed a command button from control toolbox.
3. On clicking that button it should unhide another sheet, after user enters correct password
4. This functionality works fine in excel 2000 and 2007 also.
5. But when I open the same workbook in excel 2003, the command button is not allowing to click. It looks like it is in design mode.
6. When tried to open the properties of the command button, excel is not identifing it as a control in that sheet.
7. I have attached the workbook for your reference.

How to make it working in excel 2003 also??????????

Thanks in advance.

Hi all!
I'm trying to create an add-in for Excel which adds a command button in the Excel right click toolbar. When I click on that button it should open a internet explorer window with a google search based on the value of active cell. It should work on all workbooks.
My VBA skills are limited, so i just copy/paste code I found on internet.

I created a class module (class1):

	VB:

 Application
Private Sub appevent_SheetBeforeRightClick(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean)
    Dim cBut As CommandBarButton
    On Error Resume Next
    With Application
        .CommandBars("Cell").Controls("Google Search").Delete
        Set cBut = .CommandBars("Cell").Controls.Add(Temporary:=False)
    End With

    With cBut
        .Caption = "Google Search"
        .Style = msoButtonCaption
        .OnAction = SearchGoogleIE
    End With

    On Error Goto 0

End Sub

Private Sub AppEvent_WorkbookBeforeClose(ByVal Wb As Workbook, Cancel As Boolean)
    On Error Resume Next
    With Application
        .CommandBars("Cell").Controls("Google Search").Delete
    End With
    On Error Goto 0
End Sub

When i click print in my excel VBA program, some of the command button/ list
box will at right sides will move to left sides. Can anyone help me in this
problem?

I previously used excel 2000 on my old computer, and I could make it use
Lotus 1-2-3 commands. I just purchased and installed Office standard edition
2003 on my laptop computer and I have not been able to make it perform
various acts, based on Lotus commands. Is this option still available in
excel 2003?

I have made a programme in Excel 2000 using VBA and a number of sheets.
Indata to the programme is at some instances entered from User forms.
The User forms are activated by clicking a Command Buttons. While
trying to activate the User forms in Excel 2003, an error message
occured: "Compile error in hidden module: Sheet 15".
Changing security level to low was not enough.

I became aware of that an ActiveCGM Control was missing. After
installing the file acgm.dll, the programme was running on computers in
my house, but problems still occured on other computers.

Are there any other settings I need to change/add in Excel 2003?
And is this acgm.dll specific for specific versions of Excel?

Beste regards

I want to be able to put a print command button at the bottom of my excel
sheet to print it. It is doing it in visual basic script.
Thank you

I've downloaded the patch indicated below and I'm still having the same
problem mentioned here where command buttons move after printing the
worksheet (via control-P command). While I'd like Excel to stop moving
the command buttons, if I can't prevent them from moving I'd like to
use code to move them back where I want them. Any ideas how I'd go
about doing that?

I am making a form template in Excel 2000. Every time I try to enter a
spinner button I can't get it to work with time format. I want the time to
be between 00:00 and 24:00 with 15 minute increments. I've tried with and
without the colons but nothing is working.

Dear friends,

I wonder if may be somebody has an idea of how to write the VB code to do run an Access query using an Excel VB command button?

The goal is it, after I have finished working on my Excel table, that I can push a button on the Excel sheet which launch an saved Access query.

If I would do the job manualy I would need to open the Access DB , go to Queries and double click my Query.

Example:
I have an Excel DB (Table1.xls) with a Table "MyExcelData" on Sheet1

I have as well an Access DB (DB1.mdb)
- with the same table format "MyAccessData" as "MyExcelData"
- with a linked table to my "MyExcelData"
- with a Update Query "MyQuery" (updating selected changes from the linked "MyExcelData" to "MyAccessData"

Instead of double clicking on the "MyQuery" in Access, I like to only click on a button in Excel, without having to open or touch to Access DB.

I thank you for any tip of how to program correctly a sub like this

Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Execute."MyQuery".located in C:my Documents DB1.mdb
End Sub

Jerry

In Access I created an Update Query (MyQuery) which updates any changes

I have always been able to pause a macro in Excel by pressing Alt+Control+Break. That is not working for me in Excel 2000. Is there a similar command in there?
