Save an excel file in vbscript without user prompt

Hi, I am trying to edit an excel spreadsheet and then close it using
vbscript.

the script currently edits the data fine, but when it closes, it gives
the Save prompt. Is there a way to close the spreadsheet saving the new
data automatically without any user input

Thanks

Hi
I want to save an excel file in multiple files.
The data sheet is like that ...
23/4/07 00:00:00 7.72 0.73 6.92 0.63 281.62
23/4/07 00:10:00 7.11 0.56 6.42 0.68 279.88
23/4/07 00:20:00 7.05 0.42 6.66 0.60 281.26
I want to split the file in several files containing only the same date.
Do you know any way?

Thnx in advance

I am saving an excel spreadsheet in a Comma Delimited format. And when I do
it changes some cell information. Specifically I have a column of ID numbers
"00200030" that is changed to "200030". Is there any way to preserve the
"00" prefix in the csv format?

Hi,

I'm trying to write this Function that will basically create an excel file and save it in 97-2003 format. i.e basically it has to be saved as a *.xls file although I have Excel 2007 on my system.

Sample of My Function
Function fCreateExcelResultsFile (strFileName)

	Dim oExl, objWorkbook, objWorkSheet
	Set oExl = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
        oExl.Application.Visible = True
        Set objWorkbook = oExl.Workbooks.Add()
	objWorkbook.Worksheets(2).Delete()
        objWorkbook.Worksheets(2).Delete()

        objWorkbook.SaveAs (strFileName)
	oExl.Quit

End Function
This Function results in creating an excel file with only 1 sheet in it, but the file is saved in excel 2007 format where as I need it to be saved as 97-2003 format.

Does anyone know the code to save it as that?

Thanks

Is there VBA code to click 'yes' to save data on clipboard when closing an Excel file in a macro? The macro allows to choose a unique file each time and copies specific information and I want the macro to close file but keep the info on the clipboard to paste into the main data file where the macro is stored. I cannot seem to find the code to click 'yes' for this option. Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Colleen

Hello all,

pretty new to excel programming so please be gentle!

I was wondering whether it was possible to save an excel file containing vba code in .csv format. I don't want to be able to use or see the vba in the .csv format only the cell data.

I usually save this through several windows and directories and wanted to set up a command button to do the job with one click.

Thanks.

Hi All,

I have the below macro steps to save an excel sheet in PDF format in "C:UsersxxxxxDesktop" and with the name of the workbook.
but when the PDF report gets published in c: drive , the PDF file name has .xlsm added to it instead of just the file name.
I would like to know how to publish the file in PDF format just in the name of the workbook.

Need help on this please

Please find the below macro steps:

Sub Docsave()
Dim docname As String
docname = ThisWorkbook.Name
ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat Type:=xlTypePDF, Filename:="C:UsersxxxxxDesktop" & docname, Quality:=xlQualityStandard, _
IncludeDocProperties:=False, IgnorePrintAreas:=False, OpenAfterPublish:= _
True

Every time I save an excel file to a compact disc it saves as read only. I
can't seem to change this setting. I am new to office xp and this is really
frustrating me. Help!

Hello,
How can I automatically save an excel file at a certain time everyday, say 2:00 pm. The autorecovery save is not really an option. Is there some sort of macro for this? Please help.

When I double click an Excel file in Explorer, it does not boot up. Rather,
Excel starts but does not load even a blank spreadsheet. It is likely a set
up parameter but I can't find it.

I also would like to know if there is a way to alter text in other adjacent
cells when a single cell is changed. For example, when a date goes past
current I would like to change the other cells in the row to red. Or if a
check box is selected indicating a task is complete, I want to strike through
the other cells in the row. Any help would be appreciated.

I want to create charts in excel and the display them on a web site. How can

I want to save my excel file in text format (Tab delimited *.txt) without
columns so that the lines would be separated by ¤. How ?

I have two users defined in my XP system. Let'c call them "A" (admin) and "B".
If I save an excel file in the Shared Folder as user "A", then user B can
only open it as Read-only. However, if user B saves it, then user A has no
problem in open it as a read/write file.
It hasn't always been like this, in the past I had no problems in updating
this file regardless of how I logged in.

Why does this happen? Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be updated?
How can I correct it?

I am new to this group, so have some patience with my stupidity regarding
Excel. I have read much about converting Excel files to other formats, but
can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. ? - How (or is it possible)
to save an Excel data file as an ASCII text file without any delimiters at
all. I.E. I want my Excel data file to be represented as a pure text file
with rows to be continuous/contiguous data fields and the row ending with a
carriage return/line feed.

hi Excel-freaks,

in MS Access, I generate an Excel file where the user should have the
possibility to determine the excel file name by file dialog. so I use
the following command:

xlapp.Dialogs(xlDialogSaveAs).Show
(xlapp being Excel.Application)

just at this point the Access Application stops and must be cancelled
by the task manager.Only after cancelling Access, the file dialog
appears and miraculously the saving action succeeds.
What is wrong here? why does Access stop?

thanx for your help, Helmut
