Good afternoon, I am trying to find out how I would write a formula to find the percent remaining for a certain amount. For example, if a company budgeted $1,200 for the year for office supplies, and they have currently spent $890.14, we know that $308.86 is the dollar amount remaining, but what percent of the budget is remaining? I have tried several ways of putting this in and it continues to give either an error, or give an answer I know is not correct. Any help you can offer would be excellent. Thank you.

How to create a formula for this function please?

If the value in cell X is smaller than 25 then cell Y shall be in a certain

shade of grey but if

the value in cell X is bigger than 25 but smaller than 50 then cell Y shall

be in a darher shade of grey but if

the value in cell X is bigger than 50 but smaller than 75 then cell Y shall

be in a darker shade of grey

and so on. Hope you be able understand what I need. Many thanks.

Best regards

For example:

=IF(B50,IF(K5="Short",(L5-M5)*10000,(M5-L5)*10000),"") is one of the

equations, but I need it to multiply by 100 instead of 10000 if the answer is

greater than 1000.

I could also have it so it multiplies the different equation if word

criteria in a different cell from the same row is different. I dont know how

to do that either.

I have a large spreadsheet file with numerous worksheets.

Each sheet represents one month of the year and is named Jan05, Feb05, Mar05

etc.

In the "Summary" sheet I want to automatically reference a range in the

other sheets.

For example:

In the Summary sheet column A, I have the sheet names:

Jan05

Feb05

Mar05

etc.

In column B, (let's use B5 as an example) I want a formula that reads

something like:

=B4 + Apr05!C7

This seems simple enough, but how can I write a formula that 'automatically'

enters the sheet name (i.e. "Apr05") in the formula?

The row containing the data for Apr05 is only created when that month comes

along, in order to keep the file size as small as possible at any time.

I have a very large excel 2002 document with many worksheets. The worksheets are formatted identically but named randomly (like RMA3498 and IJ98M).

I am hoping that someone could give me some tips on how to create a formula or script.

I would like to create a new worksheet in the workbook that lists the data from each worksheet's F3 cell on a different cell in the new workbook. (I just want a list of what's in cell F3 for each sheet.)

I know how to do the =[Book1]Sheet1!$F$3, but since each page of the workbook is randomly named, I was hoping someone could explain how I could do a range of worksheets or some other workaround so I don't have to manually enter the formula for each cell.

Please let me know if you have a tip for this. I looked around extensively to find the answer before posting, but I couldn't find anything.

Thank you!

By visiting the link below you can learn how to create your own Speedometer Chart in Excel 2007.

http://www.brainbell.com/tutorials/m...s-CHP-5-FIG-28

With the help of John Walkenbach's Chart Tools @

http://j-walk.com/ss/excel/files/charttools.htm), and by tweaking some of the formulas in Andy Pope's tutorial I was able to create a functioning speedometer chart.

Formula tweaks:

(Following the tutorial instructions - under column E - label "Needle")

Original:

E2 = "200"

E3 = "=((180/100)*F3)-1"

E4 = "2"

E5 = "=360-(SUM(E2:E4))"

Tweaked:

E2 = "180"

E3 = "=IF(F3=0,0,((180/100)*F3)-1)"

E4 = "1"

E5 = "=360-(SUM(E2:E4))"

If anybody is interested, I will gladly upload the file.

I have succeeded to narrow following formula: =IF(Z4=0,0,D4/Z4)+IF(Z5=0,0,D5/Z5)+IF(Z8=0,0,D8/Z8+IF(Z9=0,0,D9/Z9) by creating following array formula: ={SUM(IF(Z4:Z5=0,0,D4:D5/Z4:Z5))+SUM(IF(Z8:Z9=0,0,D8:D9/Z8:Z9))}. As you can see this array formula has two components, because it refers to a non-adjacent range of cells. Is there any possibility to write that array formula for a non-adjacent range, by using only one term ? Thank you.

different condition, and the remaining five has the same condition. I tried

doing it individually, but when it came to the seventh and last cell, it

doesnt accept it. Is it because I can only do so much function in a

formula(it says not more than seven)? If so, is there any way I can just do

the last five cells at once since the condition is all the same for the last

five range of cells? This is my what I was trying to do:

=if(g5=k52,rounded(sum(k22:k25)*80%,0),if(g5=k53,r ounded(sum(k22:k25),0),if(g5=k54,rounded(sum(k22:k 25)*85%,0), if....so on and so forth up to k58

From k54 to k58, the conditions are the same which is 85% of the total of

k22 to k25 rounded off.

Please help.

the programming group ... but here is my question / problem ...

I have been using the TI 89 and there is a function called cumsum - it is

.... i would like to know how to create this function in Excel. Example ...

in colum A, i have twenty numbers ... in colum B, it would give me the

accumative total of each line from colum A. Is there a download that would

place this funtion or a program editor that i have to use to place it in the

Excel program ... if the latter is the case ... how would i write the

function / command and install it for permanent use?

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if anyone can help me. I need to know how to create a command

button, when clicked it saves the spreadsheet along with the dates and time

on my desktop.

However, if that can't be done...is there a formula that lets u saves the

spreadsheet along with the dates and time. Whenever I open the same spread

sheet, the dates gets changed and my previous information of the dates are

lost - I use [= NOW()]. How can i stop this?

EXAMPLE

I have a sheet that is showing the travel distance between locations.

In order for all possible senerios, I had to gather data on the distance from every location to itself.

So how do I enter one location and then another location and have excel tell me the distance.

Once that is done, i want it to add that total to another locations distance which is also pulled from the data list.

I am sure this is about as clear as mud.....

And repeat that from day to day

I created 5 worksheets and using AVERAGE formula link from the consolidated worksheet. May I know how to auto-update the formula in the consolidated worksheet if I add/copy another worksheet (for example, worksheet "S6" (see attached). The reason is I will pass this file to somebody who do not know how to modify formula.

Not sure if my title explains my question very well but what I have is a formula that basically creates a filler for an employees national identifier which looks like this below.

What I want to do but do not know how to create is a formula that adds to the "Row" part of the formula "0000" plus the number of the row minus one.

So in theory if the person is on row2 his national identifier will look like CWK_MI_GB_0001 respectfully....

If a person is on row 131 it will look like CWK_MI_GB_0130 and so on...

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Could anyone please help me to create a simple formula that will output a score between 0 and 15 for a series of YES/NO answers to a series of 15 questions.

For example, I have 15 questions, each requiring a YES/NO answer.

The answers are then inputby students into a single row of an excel spreadsheet.

I have the correct answers to the YES/NO questions.

E.g.,

STUDENT ANSWER: YES YES YES NO YES NO YES NO NO NO YES NO YES NO YES

MY ANSWERS: NO YES NO YES NO NO YES YES NO YES NO NO YES YES NO

STUDENT'S SCORE =

What formula can I use to output a score between 0 and 15 for the student?

Many thanks for your help and assistance.

Best wishes.

I just came across array formulas today, don't know why I haven't realised this possibility yet. And not really sure I understand the use of them yet either, but I am trying to read up on it.

Anyway, I have an issue which I'm unsure can be fixed with the use of arrays or nto.

I have a formula, which tells the numbers of reinvestments needed. from 1 to more. Result of this is "number_of_reinvestments".

Then I have a formula which is =NPV(5%;year*number_of_reinvestments;0;-100)

I need the above formula to be done once for each reinvestment necessary. So if "number_of_reinvestments" = 2 then the formula would be like this

=NPV(5%;year*1;0;-100)+NPV(5%;year*2;0;-100)

How can I write the formula above so that it would expand depending on the "number_of_reinvestment"?

No luck finding an answer? You could always try Google.
