How to remove "freeze panes" lines?

I have fixed a column and a row using freeze panes.
But there are lines coming to mark the border of the panes.

Is it possible to remove those lines as they are looking awkward.

Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Im copying a cell in excel and pasting the content in notepad. The content
pasted in notepad automatically having a newline at the end. So the cursor is
moving to the next line automatically. How to get rid of this problem? I want
the cursor should be there at the end of that particular line. It looks like
a small problem. But I copy and paste from excel to notepad at least 1000
times a day. All the time Im pressing backspace to delete that extra line.
Can anyone help me here to get rid of this problem?

How can I remove/hide the horizontal and vertical line
that appears when creating a freeze pane?



I have a chart with several scroll bars on it. Presently it is all
unprotected. It all works fine as long as no part of the chart goes above
the Freeze Panes line. But as soon as one little portion of the chart goes
above the Freeze Panes line, the scroll bars freeze and won't work. I can
right click to format it, but I can't scroll it.

If I Unfreeze the Panes, it instantly works normally again. If I Freeze
Panes again, and it won't work.

Any ideas how to free the scroll bars up so they'll work no matter where its
host chart is located on the worksheet?


I would like to be able to hide the freeze pane lines in my spreadsheet. Is

When you create a custom function in Microsoft Excel using Visual Basic for Applications, it will be displayed in the Function Wizard under the User Defined Function category.

Does anyone know how to remove (via formula or VBA code) unknown Character returns?
I've tried =trim =clean =substitute, but nothing works. I'm just trying to remove the spaces, but I don't know what type of character return (or other code) is in the cell that I'm trying to clean.

I have code that puts borders based on value in column A. How to remove borders if cell in column A contains no value? This is sample of code.

I have a .xls file generated from a laptop computer. This file has large
page numbers (i.e. Page 1, Page 2 ...) at the centre of each worksheet. These
page numbers are blocking the content of the worsheet.

May I know how to remove them from the worksheet ?




We have a merge file set up in Word 2000 that merges with an Excel file which
imports its data from a text file and gets "refreshed" with each use.

These files are used by a number of individuals, but one of the users
recently upgraded to Office 2003 and is now getting a prompt whenever he uses
the merge file(s) stating there is an "SLQ query attached to this
file....should it be activated.." and "Do you want to refresh data?"

My coworker does NOT want to have to answer these (and other) prompts when
entering a file, but I can't figure out how to remove them.

Can someone tell me where this option is located so it can be "turned off"?

I have a pivot table which gets data from a table in SQL server table.
However, some rows are deleted permanently in the SQL table but if the field
is put in the row or column fields, the deleted value is still available for
selecting in the pull-down list.

For example, I have a field which holds staff names but some staff members
are not working in the company anymore and the related records are deleted in
the SQL table. But in the pivot table, such staff names still appears in the
pull-down list even the pivot table is refreshed.

So how to remove the items in the pull-down list also? Can anyone advise?

I try to remove an add-in, ProjeX, which , after a year of silent
non-use, installed itself seven times in the uppermost task bar. I looke
in Help for how to remove add-ons but this did not help. I opened the
add-in menu and clicked on Remove Add-in, no effect. I tried Tools >
Customize and clicked avery possibility (incl. reset) , no effect.

need some expert help. i am open an excel file with a simple link as "<a

no problem with this.
it opens in the same window (same explorer window) as my asp form is.
This is what i want so this is not the problem!
What happens is that when i open the excel workbook i have some data
being retrieved from the database and later when the user inputs some
values inside it and clicks button "SAVE" inside it i will save it in
the database directly thru vba code.

when i simply click the link and open the workbook and i click back
button it gives an informative message as:
"the document has been modified.Do u want to save the changes
yes: save your changes
no: discard your changes
cancel: keep this document open.

i simple want to supress this error message?? how can i do that?
i am using asp as the web langeuage

In cell, I have the text with many Space at many different position.
How to remove them with conditional at [A1]?

Example : ab c ed mjg kjk

If (a1=4, remove the first space, if (a1=5, then remove the 2nd space, ,,, repeat formula to remove all the space)
