My excel sheets aren't previewing or printing in color, I always get a black
and white print. I scanned my logo and try to use it in excel sheets but i
can't seem to get a color printout.

in a module I have the line "UsrDate2.Show". This is a very simple user
form with a calender control on it.
an error occurs at this line No 361 "Can't load or unload this object"
- anyone know what I should be looking at/doing to get to the bottom of
this?

help greatly appreciated

I made a small UserForm with a label that says "Waiting" to pop up during
some of my longer macro routines. I'm trying it in one program using the
code below, but the Label never loads - it stays a white square. What would
be the best way to figure out why it won't load? Or does anyone have a
correction for this?

Ed

Load UserForm1
cntFound = 0

MyTarget = ""
MyTarget = Application.InputBox("What text are you searching for?")
If MyTarget = "" Or MyTarget = "False" Then GoTo Bye

UserForm1.Show vbModeless

Range("B1").Activate
strName = ActiveWorkbook.Name
Application.ScreenUpdating = False

My Visual basic code or editor won'tl load when I press the form or code
buttons in the project exployer. Likewise pressing Alt+F11 just gives me
the Project exploye but nothing else. I created a small macro which run's
fine but it won't load the code when I press the Edit button.

Many thanks to those who can tell me whats wrong.

I'm running XP Pro and MS Office SBE. I recently applied several updates
from Msft (XP updates first, then the Office updates suggested) and now Excel
won't launch. I tried the shortcut, the menu item and double-click on an xls
file. It looks like it's going to load the program and then just disappears
with no error message.

I ordered a CD for SP3, but really, most of those updates are on already.
I'm thinking there was a problem with one of the Office updates, but cannnot
find any references to that scenario in the General Questions group.

My question is, should I reinstall Excel, wait for the SP3 CD or what?

Thanks in advance.

MS Word and MS Excel won't load from the START menu, but they wil open on the
desktop shortcut.

Other programs will load from the START menu, but not those MS Word and MS
Excel programs.

Double-clicking on a MS Word or MS Excel file opens fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello to all!
I wrote an Excel Program with macros and today I have run it on the other computer. But it didn’t work!
When I start program, Excel gave me the message: “Microsoft Forms. Could not load an object because it is not aviable on this machine”. But there is no any “object” only lines with selecting Excel cells. When I want to run this code again Excel displays me such message: “Compile error. Excel cannot find a project or library” And Excel selects VBA function “Trim()” or “Str()”!!! And I cannot received any help information about them!!! But when I create new workbook and write there any VBA code with this function all works!

1. I try to reinstall Excel on this computer, and I install full Excel version on it, but it doesn’t work
2. But I try to run my application on the third computer. All works perfectly

P.S. All computers have Office 2003
P.S. This program doesn’t contain any additional controls!

What is wrong?
Please tell me!

I've used excel for a long time. About 2 weeks ago, i started getting a popup at startup saying something like the form cant be loaded and that it cant be found on this machine. I had to hit ok two times for this to go away. Then it would start. Now when i try to start the program a windows installer begins and tries to install office. So i cancel that out (of course i dont have the installation cd) and excel won't start. HELP PLEASE!

I have Excel 2000 for Microsoft Office with Service Pack 2. Excel won't open
spreadsheets that are saved to the desktop, sent to me in an email, or opened
through Windows Explorer. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to just get
a newer version of Windows and/or Excel?

Please please can anyone help me at all. We have just got a new computer and I need to use excel so have gone to reload MSoft office 2000 small business and the code I have (disc was supplied by Gateway who don't operate in UK anymore) is 31003-OEM--0079624-16671, which is coming up as incorrect so I can't load office or excel, can anyone give me a clue as to a code I should have? Many thanks in advance

Hi People,
Hope you are well?

I have a question, hopefully you may know the answer to:

Scenario:

1.)Office 2003 loaded on XP machines.
2.)We took away the User's rights (As they messed around on the system
too much,The user can't see "C:" when opening My Computer)
But does have Excel in the Start -> My Programs Menu.
3.)We have a third party application running (basically all it does is
takes
information[client statements from its own database] and writes this to
Excel.

We receive an error "Can't load Excel Executable" when the report is
supposed to write to Excel.

Could this be because the user has to have User rights on his machine?
How could I get around this, As I can't allow them the priviledge.

Thanks for your help.

Rick

Hi,

For some reason Excel won't open files directly from windows explorer or
the desktop, or anywhere actually. To open I file I need to open Excel,
then go File>Open. Then I need to browse my server here at worker to find
the file and open it. On my desktop I have links to files and these also
don't open. Just to clarify the problem exist with files on my local
machine too, not just files on the server.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

I just downloaded Crystal Ball to use with Excel, so that may be part of my
problem.

When I copy formulas, Excel won't calculate them correctly. Even if the
formula is correct, the value is the same value as the original cell I copied
the formula from. So, my initial cell will be "=A1*100". The value of A1 is
0.1. The answer is 10, which is correct.

BUT, If I copy the formula down the column, the cells will correctly read
"=A2*100", "=A3*100" etc., but all of the values will read "10", regardless
of what the values in A2 & A3 are.

Is it a settings problem or something? If you have any ideas, I would
greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!

Whenever I wake up my laptop from sleep mode, if Excel was
running I get the message;
"Microsoft Excel can't load speech recognition files. This feature
is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?"
I've thought about letting it install, but I don't really want to
the overhead on the system.
Is this common? Any thoughts on what is causing it?

Hi. I've tried just about everything I can think of with my VBA automation to get Excel to Quit, but it just won't end. I run a Visio 2003 macro that initiates Excel to process shape property data. This automation worked properly when running Excel 2003. Once I upgraded to Excel 2007 it started leaving a copy of Excel.exe running as a hidden task; Visio is still at 2003. I start Excel using the CreateObject command. I stop it using the xlApp.Quit and Set xlApp = Nothing commands. I switched my variable declarations from referencing Excel Objects (early binding) to declaring them as Variants (late binding) with all the associated proper variable references. The program modules all compile and run. It's just that this extra instance of Excel stays in the task list. I started testing the code to see what statement was causing this to happen. All processing up to a file SaveAs works perfectly and I can end the application and the hidden Excel instance properly shuts down. But once I execute the statement xlApp.ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs FileName:=sFile the Excel task will not Quit. I've been searching support blogs and forums for days but could not find and suggested fix for this behavior. Hope someone in this community can help solve my mystery.

I recently installed 2000 on my laptop that fomerly ran 98. Now Excel won't
run, and it keeps asking to run setup, which I can't locate. I've attempted
compatibility wizards but I think I'm missing a step.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running Office 2007 and since I upgraded, I can't simply click on a populated Excel file (either in outlook or saved on my hard drive) and have it open appropriately.

If it arrives in Outlook, I have to save the file then open Excel proper, then search for the correct file and open it that way. Even if it's a document that I've previously worked on then saved...I still have to open Excel the find the file through the Open venue.

Anyone have a workaround? My IT team is swamped and doesn't have the time to help.

It's becoming a giant PITA.

Thanks so much in advance.

Using Excel 2002 SP3 under XP-pro SP1.

I used a system cleaner and in the process I lost my custom toolbar
buttons with macros assigned. Additionally, when I launch Excel, it no
longer loads 'personal.xls,' contained in Excel/Start.

The buttons are easily replaced, but the macros are contained within a
startup file that won't load. What to do?

TIA,

I've got a CSV file to which I need to add a header line. I wrote a
little VB Script to do this. Once I ran it the size of the file
literally doubled. The header line is there now, however. When I open
the file in Excel, however, all the text in each line opens in one
cell. It's quite annoying. Has anyone seen this before? Okay, maybe
not the exact problem, but maybe where Excel won't open a CSV
correctly? I'm thinking there must be some odd character or something
in it that causes this, but the file "looks" normal.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Jennifer

Just in case anyone is interested, this is the script does:

Dim DtlHdrDim FilePath
Dim DtlName
Dim FSO, Fil, TempFile, TempName
Dim sLine

Const ForReading = 1, ForWriting = 2, ForAppending = 8

FilePath = "hqimpactmktdataExtract"
DtlName = FilePath & "SalesDtl.csv"
TempName = FilePath & "Temp.csv"

Set FSO = CreateObject("scripting.filesystemobject")

DtlHdr =
"parSalesHdrID,parSalesDetailID,Before,Quantity,After,Promo,PromoBefore"
& _
"ItemPrice,PromoAfter,POSItem,UnitNumber,Depleted"

Set Fil = FSO.OpenTextFile(DtlName, ForReading, False)
sLine = Fil.ReadLine

If sLine <> DtlHdr Then
Set TempFile = FSO.CreateTextFile(TempName,ForWriting, True)
TempFile.WriteLine DtlHdr
Do Until Fil.AtEndOfStream
sLine = Fil.ReadLine
TempFile.WriteLine sLine
Loop

Fil.Close

FSO.CopyFile TempName, DtlName, True
TempFile.Close
FSO.DeleteFile TempName
End If

Set Fil = Nothing
Set FSO = Nothing
