Specify dimensions for Excel charts

It would be great if one could actually specify the dimensions of the axes of
a graph, or the graph itself without eyeballing. Could ther for example be a
function hat lets me set the lenths of the x and y axes to 4 inches by 4
inches. I do not want to esimate anything.

Why doesn't the Format Painter work for Excel chart titles? When I highlight
a chart title or axis title, the Format Painter remains grayed out. Without
this utility, I don't know how to copy one chart title to another chart title
without losing all the text formatting, which is extensive in my case (math
symbols etc.) Thanks for any suggestions!

I'd like to set a custom default footer for Excel charts (and spreadsheets
for that matter) that is always applied. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks.

Are there downloads available to supplement the basic colors available for
use in Excel charts? What I'd like (if available) is a set of colors/hue
choices similar to those in Powerpoint. Thanks!

Can anyone help me to turn on the "transparency" option for Excel Charts? In
each type of chart I select and then try to create a transparent color...
there is the option, but it's not available for me to use. Is there a way to
turn this on?

Are there programs that add attractive features to Excel charts, such as
shapes of bars, or new patterns and colors?

Hi all,
Does anyone know how I can set an EXCEL chart data range
to automatically adjust to the number of rows in my data,
which both increases and decreases over time. I can use
the COUNT function to determine the current number of
rows, but I don't know if I am allowed formulas in a
chart's data range.

thanks in advance.

The plot area default color for excel charts is grey. How do I permanently
make it white?

Does anyone know how to create a watermark on an Excel Chart?

Hi,

I have an XLAM (Add-in) which opens a workbook, works upon it and saves it
with SaveAs in the same format as that of the original workbook opened. I get
this error with message "The specified dimension is not valid for the current
chart type" at randomly when the SaveAs operation is called.

Any idea why am I getting this error at SaveAs as I believe the error has
got something to do with Charts/Graphs.

Any information on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Suggestion: add support for an arithmetic x-axis.

Currently the x-axis for Area charts must either be categories or time.
Time is of course a numeric value that can be reformatted to any numeric
format, but the axis scale must still be specified in units of days, months,
or years--this is inadequate, for instance if the x-axis is percent, then the
entire range of x-values will be less than the smallest currenly permited
minor unit (one day=100%). Why not allow full control over the axis scaling?

Jerry

Is there a way to access the code (VBA?) for a Chart created in Excel 2003? I
have generated a complicated Chart or graph which I want to then "Copy" and
modify to make several more which access different spreadsheets. It is
cumbersome to click in the Toggle box for the data ranges for X and Y.
Instead, I was hoping there might be a way to use Search and Replace to
change the text describing the data ranges.

I'm adding a chart to an existing spreadsheet with the following:

ActiveChart.Location Whe=xlLocationAsObject, Name:="IPS"

However, it's leaving too much which space between the bottom of the
existing data, and the start of the chart.

Can I specify a specific cell location for the chart to be place? Something
like:

activechart.location whe=Range("A42"), Name:="IPS"

Thanks
Fred

Hi. I want to make an animation from excel charts. I have already written a
Visual Basic program that saves the charts as static gif files. I don't know
much about animation, but when I tried to create a short video using a gif
animation program, the file size was big because I didn't know a smart way to
tell the animation program that the excel files were mostly similar from one
image to the next.

Is there a particular gif animation program that works well with charts
exported from Excel (for example, reading the different parts of the excel
chart as separate "objects" for animation)?

Thanks,

Parke

I use Excel 97.
I want to graph the progression of my test GRADES. I can create a line chart
that graphs my three test scores on three different days, 81 in January, 85
in February, and 89 in March. However, I would like the data labels to
reflect my GRADE and not my SCORE. While I want the chart to graph my SCORES
of 81, 85, and 89 - I want the labels to reflect "B-", "B", and "B+" and not
the actual numerical SCORES.

So, I would like the option to select a different column for my DATA LABELS.

I have Excel 2007. I want to have a gradient color for a chart. I go to
Format Chart Area and click Gradient fill and get a nice single color blue
gradient from light blue to white. I want to have a single color gradient but
with a different color. The help menu talks about gradient stops, so I tried
that, but when I use them with a different color, the blue is still on part
of the chart. I really do not understand the gradient stop business. I just
want to have a single color gradient with a color of my choice or a two-color
gradient with two colors of my choice. I used to be able to do this with ease
with Excel 2003, but can't figure out how to do it with Excel 2007. Any help
would be most welcome.

I would like to know if it is possible to change the default chart settings
for new excel charts. Basically, if you insert more than one series of data
in an excel chart, each series is plotted with a different colour, and
different marker. I want to change it so that in future, when I make new
graphs, the background is set automatically as white (not the default grey),
and ALL the plotted series are black '+' s. (not x - etc)
Any advice would be appreciated

Hello everyone,

I have an excel sheet with 20 charts, these charts are updated from time to time..and have to paste them in a powerpoint presentation.
I need a macro that copy every chart to a specific slide in my powerpoint template.
For example, Chart(1) must be paste in slide2, chart(2) must be paste in slide6 and so on...

I found on another forum a macro code that copies only one chart to one specific slide, I need to modified to copy one by one my charts to the specified slides in powerpoint..

Sub test_paste2()
Dim Sh As Shape
Dim PP As PowerPoint.Application
Dim PPpres As PowerPoint.Presentation
'Create a PP application and make it visible
Set PP = New PowerPoint.Application
PP.Visible = msoCTrue
'Open the presentation you wish to copy to
Set PPpres = PP.Presentations.Open("C:worktest1.ppt")
'Set the shape you want to copy
Set Sh = Worksheets("Sheet1").Shapes(1)
'Copy the shape
Sh.CopyPicture Appearance:=xlScreen, Format:=xlPicture
'And paste it on the second slide
PPpres.Slides(2).Shapes.Paste
Set Sh = Nothing
Set PP = Nothing
Set PPpres = Nothing

End Sub

If you have an idea how to modify this, to be useful for what I need...
I know that my be simple but I'm new to VBA and don't know how to do it

Thanks in advance

I'm writing an Access database with links to Excel. In my Excel spreadsheet,
I have a chart that I would like the database to link to. However, the Excel
chart is situated not into a part of a normal worksheet, but in a separate
worksheet/tab of its own, if you know what I mean. The chart's worksheet/tab
is titled "Chart1".

So, what subaddress should I use for Access to be able to link to the chart
itself, rather than to the whole Excel spreadsheet? I tried "Chart1", but it
doesn't work as I think the program is looking for a range such as
Sheet1!A1:C10 or something similar that I don't have for the chart.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Robert.

Hi I have a little problem.
I have to prepare audience profile for some TV Channels using
dimensions age, ***, monthly income and education.
I want to combine metric - age and income in one chart and non metric -
*** and education in other.
So I dont know which chart to use. I think the most appropriate is the
bubble chart (more I have the penetration as a bubble size).
But I cannot think how to dispose the dimensions and data.

Example: Channel 1
Age
12-18 30 %
19-34 20%
35-64 35%
64+ 15%

***
Male - 48%
Female - 52%

So I need to positioning this channel and compare with others.

Please if anyone knows hot to make that I`ll be very thankful.
